What do you do if your interior design plans are constantly changing?
Future-proofing your space also involves creating a flexible plan for the artwork on the walls. It’s crucial to incorporate art that you love which will stand the test of time. If the artwork at some point needs to be moved to another room or an alternate spot on the wall that’s easily done. We recently worked with a couple that had downsized from their 4000 square foot 19th century historic home to a 2500 square foot apartment with large windows, expansive walls and a contemporary loft-like layout. Fortunately, we were able to incorporate most of the artwork from the original house, and we helped them make decisions about which pieces needed to be moved to their country house. The clients were thrilled with the results!

You’re a designer looking to streamline your workflow. How can home automation help you achieve that?
One thing that we have found to be helpful is the Google Home app which includes our Nest thermostat. It's also synced to our smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. The Nest thermostat works with our iPhones so that the heat is automatically lowered when nobody is home, and the Nest carbon monoxide/smoke detectors send us notifications when the batteries run low on the devices. It saves us so much time and trouble, and lowers our heating costs considerably.
