Hi folks, Sharing the news that I’ll be leaving Coinbase later this year. It’s been an incredible year (that felt like 5) where we packed in SO much from going public, managing a big culture change, taking on many regulatory debates and much, much more. My journey with Coinbase has been a long one - I first met Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam back in 2013 when Andreessen Horowitz invested in the company and I have been lucky to be part of their journey ever since with the goal to establish Coinbase as the most trusted brand in crypto. When I first got into crypto 8 years ago at Andreessen Horowitz, people thought I was crazy. When I took the job at Coinbase, people questioned my decision to go to a crypto company. People don’t think I’m so crazy now which is a huge victory :) I’m so proud of the comms team for tackling so much at such a startling speed with such high integrity and intellect - a huge thank you to them for having me. It was an honor to lead and build this global comms team. A huge thank you to Brian Armstrong, Emilie Choi and team for giving me this opportunity, it’s dizzying how much I’ve learned. Coinbase is fierce, with an incredible team and a bright future ahead – I’ll continue to be one of its biggest cheerleaders. I truly believe crypto can be a force for good. This is not just a technology, it’s a movement, and it’s one I’ll always be part of. It’s true that crypto never sleeps which means that people in crypto generally don’t sleep! The pace and progress of the space has been astonishing this last year. That also means I could use a little break! For now, I’m going to focus on making sure the team is set up for success and will support Emilie and Brian as they explore next steps for comms at Coinbase. I’ll be here until December. Then it’s family and ski time :)
